Skip Pond, owner of RLP Construction LLC, is no stranger to the construction industry. He’s has been in business since 1999 and started his own company in 2003.

A graduate of UTC, with degrees in engineering and finance, he not only brings a nose for business to his development projects, he also brings a genuine passion for urban revitalization.

RLS Construction LLC, generally focuses on in-fill building whether it be in the downtown area or in the not too distant suburbs of Brainerd and East Ridge.  Skip feels there is real value for the builder, community and homeowner in investing in our older neighborhoods where infrastructure and an established neighborhood already exist.

The Bushtown houses are not his first investments in the revitalization of urban communities. Skip has also worked in the following urban neighborhoods: ML King, Ft. Negley, Jefferson Heights, St. Elmo, Highland Park and Ridgedale, and was among the first builders in Chattanooga to build EarthCraft and BetterBuilt-certified green houses.

There are a number of things that attracted him the Bushtown development project.   He says, “From a homeowner and builders perspective, you can’t beat some of the incentives that are being offered in the 3 East Tomorrow project.  As well, there is real financial value in the homes being offered in terms of price to size and the green features being offered to make it affordable to operate the home after it is purchased.”

Skip and his wife Jennifer currently live in Highland Park with their new baby girl.
